FIELD NOTE

A clock with no face on it still keeps time, and it keeps it for somebody else.

Two ridges past the second creek fork, a poultry farm is topping off. Briggs put that ruling on the record. Nobody argued.

Topping off is a verb with a calendar attached. Stores that forward intend to move, and moving stores have a date. The county holds the date.

Camp Ridge holds everything else, and this week it learns what everything else is worth without the one thing it cannot buy.

Season 1 runs two parts to an episode. Paid subscribers get each part the day it drops. Free subscribers wait a week.
