A cross on the gable doesn’t mean the people inside are still who they were before.
Camp Ridge has held the wire through two consecutive breach attempts. The ammunition is low, the perimeter is compromised, and an MRAP is sitting on Route Five like a threat that doesn’t need to say anything out loud. Pryor doesn’t need to assault the camp - he just needs to wait. In that context, a rural church a few miles down the road advertising itself as a refuge sounds like exactly the kind of resource that could change the math. It sounds like it. That’s the problem.
Calloway sends a vetted team to evaluate it - Mark, Sarah, John Moon, and two Camp Ridge personnel. Not a rescue mission. Not a supply run. An assessment. They’re looking for potential allies, a secondary cache, maybe a population of survivors organized enough to matter. What they find is a building with a cross on it and something wrong underneath.
