Everyone Thinks They’ll Have Time

Everyone believes they’ll have time.

Time to think.
Time to confirm what’s happening.
Time to grab what they need and make a plan.

That belief gets people killed.

Collapse Doesn’t Announce Itself

Collapse doesn’t arrive the way people imagine it.

It doesn’t come with a clear signal or a moment where everything stops and announces itself. It looks like a normal day right up until it isn’t.

That’s the trap.

Something feels off. A delay. A disruption. Information that doesn’t quite line up.

Most people hesitate in that moment. They wait for confirmation. They wait for clarity.

They wait for permission.

And while they’re waiting, the window closes.

The first hour matters more than anything that comes after it.

Not because everything is fully broken, but because it isn’t yet. Movement is still possible. Decisions still have options.

That’s the moment that decides everything.

Remnant isn’t just a story. It’s a front-row view of how fast things actually break, and what separates the people who move from the people who wait.

Some people move early. They don’t have perfect information, but they act anyway.

Most people don’t.

They stay where they are. They keep doing what they were doing. They convince themselves it’s temporary.

By the time they realize it isn’t, it’s too late to matter.

The roads are already locked. The shelves are already empty. The information is already compromised.

The options are already gone.

That’s how it happens.

Not after the collapse.

At the moment when it still looks like a normal day.

At the moment when the people who move and the people who wait separate for the first time.

Most people think they’ll recognize that moment when it comes.

They won’t.

This isn’t a story about what happens after everything falls apart.

It’s about the moment it starts, and the decisions that determine who makes it through.

If you wait until it’s public, you’re already behind the curve.

Be there when it begins.
