The sun came up on the third day without food and the family walked anyway, because the only direction not already full of them was south.
Morris reached the creek first and crouched and put his hand flat on the far bank. He was here, he said. The one who drew it. A week ago. Stopping.
And somebody else. Two days ago. Walking well. Not stopping at all.
